Plaque Installation Help

Items Needed

1. Rubber Gloves
2. Sharp Knife or Razor
3. 24" x 36" Styrofoam Sheet
4. Approximately 40 - two inch nails
5. Borax
6. High Temp Hot Glue Gun

Directions

1. Seperate Layers of Tail Feathers
2. Cut excess meat and fat from each layer of tail, but leave each layer intact (do not separate into individual feathers)
3. Stretch out each fan into semi-circle using 2" nails to fasten in place
4. Mix water and borax to make a paste. Apply paste liberally to base area.
5. Let dry for approximately two weeks for curing purposes.

Tips

When curing is completed, clean all excess, dried borax from each fan tail. Apply hot glue to the base of each fantail. This will hold your fantail in place. When glue is cool and dry, remove nails. Stack the fantails and secure by using hot glue. Place your tail in your State Turkey Tail Plaque, hot glue the beard in the hole provided. Cut your spurs and apply to the bottom of plaque.
